Castelcosa is located in the small village of Cosa, with its Castello di Cosa (more commonly, Castelcosa), in the geographical center of Friuli—thus the description of our wines “from the Heart of Friuli.” We are about 100 km (60 mi) east of Venice, bordered on the north by Austria (90 km/56mi), on the east by Slovenia (60 km/37mi), and on the south by the Adriatic Sea (40 km/25mi).
The barrier of the Alps protects us from the cold winds coming from northern Europe, while the sea acts as a natural fan, creating a mild climate ideal for premium viticulture.
