Category: Dry red wine.

Grape: 100% Refosco.

Classification: D.O.C. Friuli Grave.

Production area: Dandolo area foothills in west-central Friuli.

Vineyard yeld: 70 hl/ha. (3.1 tons/acre).

Vineyard elevation: 250 - 300 m/slm (820-980 ft.).

Training system: Sylvoz.

Vine density: 4,000-4,500/ha. (1,620-1,820/acre).

Harvest date: September 20-25.

Production: De-stemming, crushing and a six-seven-day maceration on skins. The must is then drawn off, given an overnight cold-settling, racked, and finally fermented in stainless steel tanks.

Ageing: Six-months’ sur lies maturation in stainless steel.

Quantity: Approx. 830 cases.

Color: Deep ruby red, edged with purple.

Bouquet: Displays intense, youthful fruitiness, with wild berries, especially strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant prominent, along with a intriguing herbaceousness.

Palate: Full, forward flavors in the mouth, with beautiful matching tannic presence and a firm structure.

Recommended food: Roasts and full-flavored meats, poultry, and stews. The perfect accompani-ment to traditional Friuli foods featuring pork.
