Category: Sweet white wine.

Grape: 100% Verduzzo friulano.

Classification: D.O.C. Friuli Grave.

Production area: Dandolo area foothills in west-central Friuli.

Vineyard yeld: 70 hl/ha (3.1 tons/acre).

Vineyard elevation: 250 m. (820 ft.).

Training system: Sylvoz.

Vine density: 3,800-4,500/ha. (1,540-1,820/acre).

Harvest date: September 20-25.

Production: De-stemming and crushing followed by cold maceration on skins for about ten hours. Light pressing, then a one-day cold settling, followed by racking and inoculation with special yeasts.

Ageing: Four to six months’ maturation sur lies in stainless steel.

Quantity: Approx. 835 cases.

Color: Deep amber-tinged gold-yellow.

Bouquet: Floral notes of lime blossom, scents of ripe apricot, plus an intriguing hint of airplane glue from the tannins characteristic of this grape variety.

Palate: Full, rich flavors, with a light touch of sweetness, complemented beautifully by a slight tartness and fine-grained tannins in the background; the richness melds seamlessly into a pleasantly bitterish, lengthy finish.

Recommended food: Most pastries, full-flavored soft cheeses, and especially all kinds of almond confections.

Serving temperature: 8°-10°C (46°-50°F).
